1- REHABILITATION

 
 

After any serious injury, illness or surgery, the recovery usually comes slowly. There is always the need to regain strength, relearn skills or find new ways of doing things that were easily done before. This process is called rehabilitation.

PRO PLUS is an accredited 'Rehab Training Facility' and we have the knowledge, skills and experience, specializing in back, shoulder and knee rehabilitation.
Our team is DIRECTED by Captain Alaa Shaker, one of Egypt's professional and well reputed physiotherapists.

 
 

Rehabilitation often focuses on:

 
 
  • Physical therapy to help regain strength, mobility, and fitness.
  • Occupational therapy to help with the daily activities.
  • Speech-language therapy to help with speaking, understanding, reading, writing, and swallowing.
  • Treatment of pain.


The type and goals of therapy may differ from one to another. A person who suffered from stroke may simply want rehabilitation to be able to dress or bathe without help. A person suffered from a heart attack may go through cardiac rehabilitation to try to return to work and normal activities. Another with a lung disease would need a pulmonary rehabilitation to be able to breathe better and improve their quality of life.

First Step: Diagnosing the Injury

  • Arm Injuries:
       - Tendinitis and Bursitis.
       - Sprains.
       - Dislocations.
       - Broken bones.
  • Shoulder Injuries:
       - sprains, strains, dislocations, separations, tendinitis, bursitis, torn rotator cuffs, frozen shoulder, fractures and arthritis.

 

Second Step: Treating the Injury

 
 

Our program in treating injuries applies the methods of:

  • Agility: It is the ability to change the direction of the body in an efficient and effective manner. To achieve this ability you require a combination of:
       - Balance
       - Speed
       - Strength
       - Co-ordination
  • Speed: It is the quickness of movement of a limb, whether this is the legs of a runner or the arm of the shot putter. Speed is an integral part
      of every sport and can be expressed as any or in the combination of the following:
       - Maximum speed.
       - Elastic strength (power) and speed endurance.
  • Core Stability: The aim of Core Stability training is to effectively recruit the trunk musculature and then learn to control the position of the
      lumbar spine during dynamic movements.
  • Hear Rate Zones: Heart Rate Training Zones are calculated by taking into consideration your Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) and your Resting
      Heart Rate (RHR). Within each training zone, subtle physiological effects take place to enhance your fitness.
  • Incline Training: Incline Running has a strengthening effect as well as boosting the athlete's power. It is ideal for those athletes who depend
      on high running speeds - football, basketball, handball players and even runners. To reduce the possibility of injury Incline Training should be
      conducted once the athlete has a good solid base of strength and endurance.
  • Circuit Training: Circuit Training is an excellent way to improve mobility, strength and stamina.
  • Trampoline & Trazer Training: It is to improve the muscular system by improving the nerving system. It is very safety and fast way to achieve
       the treatment goals.

 
 

Hydrotherapy

 
 

Hydrotherapy is a therapy program that utilizes the properties of water. It is designed by a professionally-trained therapist specifically to improve the function for an individual. Warm water promotes circulation and provides a supportive, assistive, and relaxed environment in which a person can carry out exercises or movements that are potentially harder or more aggravating on land. It also gives varying degrees of resistance, which can improve muscular strength and cardiovascular fitness.

Pro Plus has specially built hydrotherapy pool heated to 30º C indoor with suitable facilities for transfers. It has resistance jets which can be used for various more challenging exercises as well as its original function as a jet massage.

 
 

Conditions treated at Pro Plus with hydrotherapy include: Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Head Injury, Muscular Dystrophy, & Joint Problems.
